
History
The Colorado Quarter-Master Awards Program (CQ) commenced on April
20,
2001. The goals of this program are to honor those who have served
in the
armed forces of both the United States and World Countries. It is
also to
promote activity on the 10-meter amateur band, and to
promote Excellent Amateur Radio Operating procedures. It is encouraged
that
all amateurs from around the World participate and help to make
Colorado
Quarter-Master Program a success. This program is a continuation
of the
famous Vets program that was currently discontinued, So get your
numbers
today :).
Membership
There are 2 main types of Members to the Colorado Quarter-Master
Awards
Program. 1) Veterans {Vets} or 2) Support of Veterans {S}.
Any licensed Amateur Radio Operator who is a paid-up 10-10 member
who
is a veteran of military service, or who is currently on active
duty or reserve status,
is automatically qualified to join. The other method of joining
is to work a
CQ Member or Instant Qualifier Every CQ Member is a Instant Qualifier
for
other to Join in.
Starting Points and Point Values
CQ Member who are Veterans Starting Points is 100. Those who start
as a
Veteran Supporters will Start with 50 Points.
CQ Member will have the following designations:
CQ Then # other Designators, and then Veteran or Support,
Example: CQ#1AV Colorado Quarter-Master Number 1, Branch of Service,
Veteran.
Colorado Quarter-Master with "V" for Veterans
"S" for Supporters of Veterans
Branch of Service Designator:
"A" for Army
"C" for Coast Guard
"F" for Air Force
"M" for Marines
"N" for Navy
"NG" for National Guard
"W" for Merchant Marine
Multiple Branches of Service will be indicated with Multiple Designators.

If you meet all the Requirements as stated above then you can be
enrolled into the
Colorado Quarter-Master Chapter via our online Application at

A Member wanting to join Colorado Quarter-Master Awards program and

When and How Often Can I upgrade ?
Upgrading is done three time a month Maximum. It goes by the number in your
Call Sign not your Call Area.
Examples: If you have:
0 in your Call Sign then 10th, 20th, and 30th
of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
1 in your Call Sign then 1st , 11th , and
21st of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
2 in your Call Sign then 2nd , 12th , and
22nd of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
3 in your Call Sign then 3rd , 13th , and
23rd of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
4 in your Call Sign then 4th , 14th , and
24th of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
5 in your Call Sign then 5th , 15th , and
25th of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
6 in your Call Sign then 6th , 16th , and
26th of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
7 in your Call Sign then 7th , 17th , and
27th of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
8 in your Call Sign then 8th , 18th , and
28th of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
9 in your Call Sign then 9th , 19th , and
29th of each month you can send in a Upgrade.
How are my Points Calculated ?
All New Points you collect are totaled then it is divided by 300
Example.
Current Points : 100
New Points : 1500 / 300 = 5
Add 5 to Current Points Value = 105 <--Your Current Points Value.
Are all Points Divided by 300 ?
No, Seals, Armourer of the Month, Recruiter of the Quarter, and Holiday Bonuses are not divided by 300 their value are added into your final score <On-The-Air Point Value>.
New Points and Birthdays are divided by 300.
How do I received a Seal or Medal ?
Medals are also awarded at the following Points Levels
150 points = National Defense Service Medal (NDSM) {10}
250 points = Good Conduct Medal (GCM) {15}
500 points = Expeditionary Medal (EM) {15}
1,000 points = Achievement Medal (AM) {15}
2,000 points = Commendation Medal (CM) {15}
4,000 points = Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) {20}
8,000 points = Purple Heart (PHM) {20}
10,000 points = Bronze Star (BSM) {20}
12,000 points = Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) {20}
14,000 points = Legion of Merit (LOM) {25}
16,000 points = Superior Service Medal (SSM) {25}
18,000 points = Silver Star (STM) {25}
20,000 points = Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) {25}
24,000 points = Medal of Honor (MOH) {50}
Note: After achieving the Points Value above the Points in {} parentheses
for
each one worked will be added to your Current Point Value and is
not to be
divided by 300.
Also include in your list Seals, Example NDSM#1, GCM#2 and so forth.
How many Seals or Medals can I collect for the above Point Value ?
If you are Maxed on a Medal / Seal <Maximum Amount Allowed to
turn in for
points> After Nov 01, 2001 You will be allowed to collect above
and beyond the
Maximum allowed. It must be a unclaimed seal.
But the Points will change on Medals / Seals above the Maximum Allowed:
NDSM & GCM maximum of 50 Each <51 And Up 1 Point Each>
EM, AM, CM, & MSM maximum of 25 Each <26 And Up 1 Point Each>
PHM, BSM, DFC & LOM maximum of 25 Each <26 And Up 1 Point
Each>
SSM, STM, DSC & MOH maximum of 20 Each <21 And Up 1 Point
Each>
Note: After the Maximum Seals are Collected the Point Value on all
New Seals
For that category will be worth 1 point each.
How do I upgrade my Rank ?
You may only work a station once for upgrade in Rank.
But you can add the Extra Points He or She might have obtained after
initial
Contact. Everyone Starts as a E-1 Please include this in your list.
Rank is not collectable but gives other a chance to see how many
contacts you
have made.
Promotions will be granted on Colorado Quarter-Master Members Worked
Once Only.

How Do I get Extra Bonuses ?
1. Holiday Bonus - Add 1 to your Current Points < On-The-Air Points
> collected
for every Colorado Quarter-Master Veteran member you work on the
Following Dates:
Armed Forces Day (May 18, 2002)
Independence Day (July 04, 2002)
Veterans Day (November 11, 2002).
Also Note: The Extra Bonus applies to Supporters, and Colorado
Quarter-Master Veterans ..
2. Additional Points: Birthday Points can BE Collected by both the
Supporter
and Veteran. 100 POINTS / 300 Get the
Call sign and Birth Date.
3. Amourers: There are 3 Colorado Quarter-Master Members that are
Considered Armourers for each month. You must Collect their Call
Sign, CQ#, and
Weapon to receive Points for that contact. <One Time Only> Each
will earn you 4
points, Collect all 3 for that month and receive a Maximum Points
of 12.

What are the Net Schedules ?
We support the Chapter with 2 modes of Nets PSK-31 and 10 Meter
USB.
PSK-31 Net Schedule is 1700UTC on Monday Shift 2000 unless otherwise
posted on
the Reflector.
10 Meter USB Net are Scheduled for Winter 22:00 UTC Mondays 28.360
+-10Khz November 01 - April 30
For Summer 21:30 UTC Mondays 28.360 +-10Khz May 01 - October 31
Because of Band Conditions we might start earlier but will announce
it on the
Reflector. An Additional Net Scheduled for Saturdays will be announced
on the Reflector if
Time allows.
